Olga Torrey was one of the first sport divers in the New York dive community and the Northeast United States to use the sidemount configuration in open water environments. She will be speaking about the advantages. Originally developed for entering tight restrictions during cave dives; it is now being used in open water.
Olga will share her experiences adapting sidemount techniques for both shore and boat diving. This presentation will give the new diver another gear configuration option.Olga has been diving open-water using sidemount for many years while her regular buddy dives a rebreather. She will cover what an open circuit diver needs to know when diving with a buddy on a rebreather. Doubles and other configurations will also be covered. This presentation will show the new diver that diving with a single tank on their back is not the only option. They will see other gear configurations and how they could be used safely.

But even new divers can get excellent results with a compact camera with a built-in lens. Larry well go over equipment and techniques to help you get the most out of your digital camera and housing. Larry will explain key techniques used in photographing many different kinds of subjects. Not only reef fish; he will cover shooting under piers, shipwrecks, and underwater caves.
